My family started in the seafood business along Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay around the turn of the century with my grandfather’s crab processing plant, A.E. Phillips & Son. In 1956 my parents, Brice and Shirley Phillips, along with my brother Jeffrey and me, moved to Ocean City, Maryland. It was there that we opened a small carryout restaurant called Phillips Crab House as a way of selling excess crabs from my grandfather’s plant. Business grew quickly and the once small carryout grew into a two-story restaurant seating 1400. No matter how much time goes by, I can still remember our early days when my brother and I would help Dad steam crabs, taste Mom’s new recipes or sit on the front steps proudly calling in that another guest was coming for dinner.

Over the past 50 years we have grown our company by leaps and bounds, both within our Mid-Atlantic home base and along the East Coast by holding fast to these simple principles: serve the freshest, finest seafood available, provide outstanding service, and create a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Mom, Dad, Jeff, and I see nothing but continued success in our future with the help of our devoted management and staff.

Thank you for dining with us.

Not only do they have an amazing buffet, but their sit down dining room is high quality food! Unfortunately all people in your party must either do all buffet or all sit down service, unless you don't care about sitting together. Lots of choices on the buffet for the whole family with pizza and burgers for the kids to prime rib and crabs for the adults and everything in between. If you are a light eater then the sit down may be a better option unless you like to try a huge variety of food. The price was $40-45 but I can't remember, so don't hold me to it. But it's worth every penny! The picture with steak and fish and chips was sit down, the other buffet.

Another great dine in experience at early dinner time. No wait for menu dining or waiting at least 40 mins for the popular dinner buffet!

Seafood buckets were pretty good with a lb of shrimp with tasty seasoning including old bay. Unlike the tasty potatoes and corn in the bucket, the chicken sausage was not so good. The burgers also had good reviews by the family. Environment is not noisy as other popular bars in the area.

The easy free parking is also a nice perk for this restaurant!

Love Phillips Seafood. I know it's a chain but still... My first visit was 20+ years ago and they've still got it. It was my first love of seafood and discovery of crab dip. Even now, the same classic tried and true. Snow crab legs are a must (mine were a little salty but still amazing) and the crab chowder never disappoints. They now have an AYCE option which is a great deal but with kids in tow, I opted to do the regular menu. Besides, the lines are always for the buffet. I didn't have to wait for the off the menu dining.
