Amazing vegan options here. If driving by within 100 miles it's worth it to swing by for the food, drinks, the customer service, and atmosphere. Had the Seitan Bao Buns, 10/10, full flavor. I hate vegan seafood, but the crab cake sandwich reversed my decision. Mac and cheese was better than average, could use a bit more flavor, but otherwise tastes like a creamy homemade meal. Every staff member we encountered was lovely and inviting. Eat outside, it's a great experience. Hopefully will return soon.

Out of all the gems in town, there are a few that stand out, and the Blacksmith is one of them.
There’s a beautiful mix of creativity and local staples. The drinks and food are all phenomenal. You can’t go wrong with this caliber of quality and service.

We went here as it had the most google reviews and seemed like the place to be… I will summarize in saying that we found it to be quite “overrated” literally and figuratively
The good: the drink was excellent! I’m not a dark liquor girl, but their take on the walnut whiskey sour was great 👍
The bad: nothing was actively bad, just disappointing … maybe the onions… both of our dishes had red onions that were *not* cut with finesse 😂 .. if you’re going to offer a salad on a upscale casual menu it is always helpful to blanch your onions so that’s not the only thing you taste (and for the next 3 hours…)
The mediocre:
1. The service- our waitress was a bit short with us and definitely not personable (it was not busy, the dinner rush had died off after we looked at the menu)
2. The burger… just meh… like really really lacking seasoning and it had gritty bits to the meat which wasn’t pleasant. Also if you’re going to offer a “best ever!!” Burger you need to commit to the burger.. this was somewhere between a smash burger and a regular patty which meant it lacked the crispy, intense griddle flavor of a smash and the juiciness of a thick patty.. so just gritty and tasteless on a soggy bun with some soggy fries
2. The French lentil salad. I was expecting something with a little flavor but it was a scoop of cooked and cooled *plain* black lentils, vegetable “crudités” (aka poorly sliced onions, carrots and some tomatoes) and the dressing was nothingness. The greens and veggies were fresh/good quality at least! But I just tasted onions and I just ate it because it was late, I was hungry, and it was $16.75 😅 (last picture is the “crudités”… again.. for a $17 salad, a little effort is nice)
3. Atmosphere - cozy enough.. we were shoved beside the door, no pony wall or divider between the entrance. The decor was an interesting mix of modern farmhouse, boho chic, and industrial which was… eclectic. With a full house it definitely had a cozy vibe and it looked inviting from the outside which is part of the reason we wondered in
Maybe we went on an off night.. but we definitely enjoyed some of the other eats in and around town!
